Do you regularly feel drained and lethargic in the first part of the day, or even in the evenings when you’ve gotten sufficient rest? It’s a disappointing, experience but there might be simple explanations: you have poor sleep quality. poor sleep quality can hinder your focus, destabilise your state of mind, and is even linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
identifying that you’re not getting sufficient sleep is simple. identifying why that sleep isn’t restful is trickier, but it is certainly achievable.
Poor psychological well-being, regardless of whether stress, pressure or depression adds to poor sleep quality resulting in insomnia and other related ailments
It is inspired by a verse found in the ‘Gauda Pada Karika’ (commentary) of Mandukya Upanishad that runs as follows:-
Laye sambodhayet cittam viksiptam samayet punah
Sakasayam vijaniyat samapraptam na calayet. (Man. Karika-II.44)
“Stimulate and awaken the sleeping mind, calm down the distractions, recognize the innate stagnation and stay in steadiness without disturbing it”
