What style of yoga do you teach?
We teach and make you practice “Integrated Approach of Yoga Therapy (IAYT)” which contains Yoga posture (Asana), Regulated Breathing (Pranayama), Cleansing technique (Kriya) and Meditation and knowledge sessions required for treatment.
How long is each online class?
The classes are generally between 45-55 mins, although when the therapists feel that the participant needs longer meditation or extra movement, the class can extend.
I am a beginner, can I join the classes?
Mind and Soul style of teaching is generally accessible to all levels as we encourage a more therapeutic (IAYT) and mindful approach and always try to offer easier variations as should be compatible for everyone.
I am not flexible at all; will I be able to take part?
Flexibility is not a prerequisite of yoga, but beautiful by product. Just as you do not need muscles before attending the gym, equally you don’t need flexibility to do yoga. Yoga will loosen up your muscles and joints, with regular practices the flexibility increases in your body.
As it is a therapy session, we ensure you are comfortable in the position and feel better.
I want to lose weight – will these classes help me?
If you are overweight according to the BMI, Yes! Your course will be prepared for weight loss.
However, as these are one-one therapy classes and, we treat the participant according to the requirement, not only for weight loss,
I would like to do the online classes with another member of my household, how does the payment work?
The pricing plans offered allow for one member only, as the course is structured according to individual health status only, we strongly suggest you to participate by yourself only.
If anyone who does live in your home would also like to join, it is mandatory to go through the process of Counseling and the course is designed according to their health and requirements.
Class attendance is monitored regularly. If someone violates the rule and joins and practices we are not held responsible for any consequences.
I don’t live in the UK, can I join the classes?
The best thing about online classes is, no matter where you are in the world, all you need is an internet connection and a yoga mat to join. All classes are structured according to the time zone convenient to you. Timings will be discussed during Counseling.
What do I need for the online classes?
Your Own Yoga mat
2 cushions – OPTIONAL
2 blocks (or thick books) – OPTIONAL
Strap (or belt or towel) – OPTIONAL
The props as above are not a requirement but can be useful to create a more comfortable and safe practice (I will always explain when & how to use them).
Do you teach meditation or breathing techniques?
Yes and yes, Meditation is the basis of yoga and is practiced at the beginning and end of every class. We tend to do guided meditations to help you focus and calm your mind.
We teach breathing techniques every week, explaining its benefits and how to do it so you can also practice in your own time.
If I miss a class, can I get a recording?
We always encourage attendance to the live classes as this commitment will create a routine in your schedule which will lead to seeing the best effect of your therapy yoga practice in the fastest way. However, there may be circumstances where you are unable to attend and therefore, if you are a Course subscriber, we assign our therapist to conduct a class at a different time as you are a participant. It is not recommended without proper instructions from our therapist.
Do I need to keep my camera on?
Yes! As it is a therapy class we are treating on the health sequences, we are going to focus on each and every aspect as our intent is to get the best results for you. As this is a one-one session you need not to worry from a privacy perspective.
What are the benefits of attending the live classes as opposed to watching a recording/YouTube video?
1. As we are practicing “IAYT – Integrated Approach of Yoga Therapy” it is essential to observe each and every practice to avoid adverse consequences.
2. We aim to make these online yoga therapy classes as close an experience to physical yoga classes as possible. Hence we encourage those students who would like their postures to be adjusted to keep their camera on “online session” so we are able to observe their practice and instruct where necessary.
3. There is always the opportunity to ask questions during class via the chat box for anything you require clarity on.
4. A live class encourages you to turn up and be present at a set time and hence builds routine in your days, whereas doing a prerecorded class can build a mentality of “I’ll do it later” and often as we know, “later” never comes.
5. Seeing others practicing along with you, provides a sense of community and the motivation to continue.
What benefit will I gain from these classes?
Through partaking in these IAYT classes regularly, you will see a number of benefits both physically and mentally.
Mainly, you will get the positive results of your treatment.
Physically your body will feel lighter, more mobile, and supple and you will experience less aches and pains. You will also feel stronger in your muscles and joints.
Mentally, you will feel more relaxed and at ease as well as learn the tools to calm yourself in situations where you feel stressed or anxious or where your mind goes into overdrive.
Is it possible to trial a class before I commit?
Yes, of course. As part of the subscription package 14days basic period is absolutely free, during this time you will get seven Beginner sessions.
How do I join the classes once I’ve paid the subscription?
During counseling from Mind and Soul therapist you will get confirmation on the joining formalities, timings and requirements will be explained to you.
Are the pricing plans refundable?
Mind and Soul’s ultimate aim is for every participant attending the classes to find them enjoyable and beneficial. Hence, for those who have purchased the quarterly / annual plan, if you are unhappy with the quality of classes, during a first month counseling you can inform our therapist on the results and the consequences. We would be grateful for your feedback to help us improve and would be happy to offer you a refund.
Do you offer private 1-1 sessions?
Yes, we offer Only One – one session as this is an IAYT session.
Do you hold live classes or only online?
For instance, we offer only online sessions as we are a global based organisation.
Do you do classes for corporate companies?
Yes, we do both online and in person Sessions for corporate companies. Price is dependent on the group size, frequency, etc. Please contact us with your requirements.
